Kremer Pigmente

Wall Paint

Wall paint and colors used for decorative painting on solid painting supports often need to fulfill special requirements. The paint should build a strong connection with the surface and should not be harmful (at best, support) to the structural physics of the material in question. It is recommended to either choose a binder which is similar to the material of the wall/support or to use media which will not reduce the permeability of gas or humidity. Insulating paints, of course, should block harmful external influences and therefore need to be prepared with Pure Acrylate like dispersion K9.

Wall Paint: smudge-proof, opaque

Suitable for the following surfaces: paper, woodchip, wallpaper, vinyl wallpaper, glass fiber fabric, gypsum cardboard, gypsum plaster, lime plaster, lime-cement plaster, synthetic resin plaster, dispersion paints. The surface must be thoroughly dry and free of dirt.

INGREDIENTS
300 g Tylose® MH 300 P2 (#63600)
10 liter cold water
7 kg Chalk from Champagne (#58000)
3 kg Titanium White Rutile (#46200) or
4 kg Color Paste – Titanium White (#27000)
4 liter Dispersion K 9 (#75367)

METHOD
Dissolve 300 grams of Tylose® in 10 liters of cold water. Keep stirring until the cellulose glue no longer floats and the mixture is lump-free. Let soak overnight. For pure white paint, add 7 kilograms of Chalk from Champagne and 4 kilograms of Kremer Color Paste – Titanium White or 3 kilograms of Titanium White to the glue solution. In order to avoid lumps, it is better to soak the pigments in water overnight. In this case, the amount of water needed for the pigments should be subtracted from the amount of water used to dissolve the cellulose glue. Add 4 liters of Dispersion K 9 for a smudge-proof paint. Covers approximately 150 m², one single coat.

NOTE
Adding 500 grams of Glass Flakes, medium (e.g. #59851) creates a nice glittering effect. Instead of white pigments, you can also use other color pigments for this recipe to get different colors of wall paint. Add a small amount of pigment (between 50g and 500g) for a nice colored touch in your wall paint. Or use 10 kilograms of a pigment suitable for acrylic dispersions instead of the mixture described above. Very fine pigments, such as synthetic-organic pigments, may need more binding medium. In this case, the amount of pigments in the recipe above should be reduced. It is necessary to test whether or not the amount of binding medium is suffcient. If the paint shows chalking when dry, add more binding medium. If necessary, add Orotan 731 K (#78032) as a wetting agent. Cadmium pigments are not recommended for wall paints!

Wall Paint Binder, transparent

for mat interior paint coatings

The wall paint binder can be used on paper, ingrain wallpaper, emulsion paints, plasterboard and plaster surfaces indoors. It is suitable for all acrylic-compatible pigments. It can be pigmented undiluted with up to 500 g pigment per liter. For glazing coats, dilute with 3 - 5 parts of water. The consumption volume for an opaque coating is about 100 - 150 ml / m².

XSL-Pigments

A group of pigments which are easily soluble in water thanks to a special treatment with dispersing agents. The pigments can easily be stirred into water, and the particles will be perfectly dispersed, similar to color concentrates. The color intensity is reached easily and quickly. Aqueous wood stains can be prepared because of its good solubility in water. XSL Pigments are very lightfast, unlike normal stains.
