Handling and Warnings
CAUTION: Materials impregnated with oil may spontaneously combust (auto-oxidation). Burn rags under supervision or dry outspread.
Recommended for light colors in oil painting. In many old painting books, the sun-thickened painting oil is recommended as a painting medium for oil painting. The fatty oil (oleum crassum) is formed by slow absorption of oxygen in sunlight. During the production it is necessary to avoid the formation of a skin, it is also important that no dirt falls into the oil. The oleum crassum gives the paint melting, even in thicker layers the paint dries through quickly.
