Candelilla wax is the purified wax obtained from the leaves of the candelilla plant Euphorbia antisyphilitica. Candelilla wax is usually odorless, when heated it smells aromatic. It is harder than beeswax, but softer than carnauba wax. Candelilla wax can be used as a substitute for carnauba wax in the production of shoe polishes, floor polishes, candles, as an additive to soap emulsions, etc. insoluble in water soluble in chloroform and toluene, melting range: 68.5 - 72.5°C - sale only within EC - Store in closed containers, protected from light and at temperatures not exceeding 40°C.
