Rosin, also called fiddler´s resin, is a hard, acidic diterpene resin extracted from pine, reddish-yellow in color, from the lightest to the darkest, brownish varieties. It is supplied in brittle, glassy fragments soluble in alcohols, ethers, ketones, aromatic and colored hydrocarbons, and oils.
