Pigments made of the rare-earth element cerium have a strong color with a slight earthy tint and are inherently opaque. Think of them as having the richness of cadmium pigments, but with a grounded, more natural character. These inorganic cerium sulfide pigments are lightfast, weather-resistant, and suitable for a wide range of applications.

Plus, cerium pigments reflect infrared (IR) radiation and absorb ultraviolet (UV) light, making them a great choice for insulating paints. All in all, they’re a compelling, safer alternative to traditional cadmium pigments.
