Handling and Warnings
Contains colophony, copper. For green glazes.
Transparent copper green, contains rosin and copper, suitable for glazes. It consists of a resin paste of transparent green color and high viscosity, and can be diluted with turpentine essence. Transparent varnishes colored with copper salts of resinous acids are given the name copper resin, so that when needle resins, such as Venice turpentine, are used for their preparation, they are the basic product of copper salts of abiotic acid. Copper resinate is soluble in numerous organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc., but becomes insoluble when it has been encapsulated in a dry oil film.
