Recipe: Gesso for Silverpoint drawings

(without rabbin glue, vegan)

The primer can be applied on wooden panels or paper.

Processing

Step 1: Allow the cellulose glue (#63610) to swell in water.
Step 2: When the glue has dissolved, add 150 ml dispersion (#76000), then stir in the pigments.
Step 3: The mixture makes about 1 liter of primer.

Ingredients

10 g Tylose® MH 1000 P2 (#63610)
700 ml Water
150 ml Dispersion K 498 (#76000)
200 g Marble Dust, extra white, Italian (#58500)
500 g Lithopone (#46100)

Note

For a tinted ground a Yellow Ochre pigment such as Yellow Moroccan Ochre, fine (#116421) may be added.
