Spinel & similar Pigments

Spinels are derived from the colorless, natural mineral spinel MgAl2O4. The coloration is achieved by replacing the Mg or Al with Co2+, Cr3+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Ti 4+ and Fe3+ cations. The lightfastness of these pigments is unsurpassed. Due to their great thermal stability, their insolubility in solvents and their high resistance to acids and alkalis, these pigments are suitable for almost all techniques.
