Ricette: Cellulose Glue-base Color Wash

Glue-/Gelatin- or Size-base paints have always been popular due to their easy handling, low costs and beautiful color-clear, matt finish. The most important property of glue-/gelatinor size-base paints is their easy washability and reversibility. In fact, glue-/size-base paints have to be washed o. before repainting can take place because they cannot be painted over. The use of glue-/size-base paint, however, is especially recommended, due to the ecologic, hygienic, physical and aesthetic advantages it provides. Glue-/Gelatin-/Size-base paint is suitable for the following surfaces: lime plaster, lime-cement plaster, synthetic resin plaster, dispersion paints. The surface must be thoroughly dry and free of dirt.

Dissolve 100 grams of Klucel® E in 10 liters of cold water, constantly stirring. Keep stirring until the Klucel® E no longer floats. Let the mixture soak overnight. Klucel® is more transparent than the Tylose glue mentioned above, and thus results in particularly pure colors. According to the desired color intensity, add 50-250 grams of earth pigment or 5-50 milliliters of color paste (per recipe) and stir in thoroughly.
