Painter´s Silver, big
water soluble
Shell silver can be simply dissolved with water and used like a watercolor (polish if necessary). The powder silver was already used in ancient times and stored in shells. Shell silver dries to a fine, shimmering layer. It is also ideal for retouching. Shell silver can tarnish black and should be treated with a solvent-based protective coating (e.g. shellac, Zapon varnish or Paraloidâ„¢ B 72).
