We offer a wide range of colored glass pigments: 125 colors in 625 different tones. The colored glass is elaborated by melting lead glass with heavy metal oxides, obtaining a wide variety of colors. The light stability of all these pigments is excellent (8,8,8). They can be used in all media, both in oil, acrylic dispersion, milk of lime and all kinds of natural glues. With some mortars and cements they can cause efflorescence. For outdoor applications, it is recommended to carry out the relevant tests. They admit to be baked at 900ºC for enameling techniques. The colored glass is crushed and then molded until a sandy powder with a diameter of approx. 0.25 mm. is obtained, which is then passed through several sieves. We offer the colored glass powder in 5 degrees of grinding. A: Particles smaller than 63 µ, the finest powder is still the lightest and can be applied easily with a brush in any medium. B: 63-80 µ, the fine powder can also be used in any medium, then the intensity of its color is higher than the extra fine. C: 80-100 µ, this thick powder gives shine and body to the paint, but is too thick to be used in watercolor and glaze. Glass particles can be distinguished in thin layers. D: 100-125 µ, this powder has a sandy texture and its particles have a light sparkling shine. E: Thicker than 125 µ, the particles can really be manipulated on the surface. Ideal for fresco techniques and sandy textures. NOTE: Glass powder may contain lead. Avoid inhalation of the powder. Hazards from ingestion or inhalation of lead have a cumulative effect. Remember to indicate the grind grade when ordering; the default is always grade A.
